The Journey of
Maryann Garrido is an 18 year old warrior and inspiration. She was born with a disability called “Brachial Plexus” which is a condition that would limit her arm mobility forever. This however was no obstacle for her. Since the small age of 13 she’s competed in several beauty pageants in which she has brought the title home. She has also performed as a singer and opened up for famous Latin singers here in Atlanta. Maryann has walked for New York Fashion Week and Charlotte Fashion Week 2 years in a row. This past month she was the youngest to walk for designer Segundo Lema at the famous Chinese Theatre in Hollywood California. Maryann has always shown that passion for the stage and her mission is to make it big so young girls with disabilities can feel included. She wishes to use her image to bring awareness and allow there to be more acceptance towards models who are “unique” like her. She’s already making her dreams come true by creating her non-profit organization “Dreams of Hope” and by becoming an ambassador at “Shriner’s Hospital for Children” where she receives her treatment.
