The Journey of
Cydney Hill is a current graduate student at Emory University Rollins School of Public Health with a major in Behavioral, Social and Health Education Sciences. Cydney graduated with honors from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in the School of VCUArts with a major in Dance and Choreography. Cydney was humbled to receive a VCU 4-year dance scholarship. In addition, Cydney is the recipient of the prestigious Gates Millennium Scholarship provided by Bill and Melinda Gates which funds her education up to her PhD. While at VCU, Cydney was also selected to participate in VCU LEAD, a
distinguished leadership-focused Living-Learning Program for undergraduate students where she received a Certificate of Leadership Studies with one of the highest community service honors. Upon graduating with her Master’s from Emory University, Cydney will be applying for her Doctorate in Public Health with a goal to have a hand in eradicating racial disparities among minorities. Another mission of Cydney’s is to start a program geared towards providing Dance Movement Therapy (DMT), creative arts, sports, and mental health educational services to young black men and women suffering from childhood
trauma, anxiety, and depression.
